How to backup the wallet.dat file

If you are able to start your wallet, please follow these simple steps:

QT Wallet

1. Click on File
2. Go to Backup Wallet...
3. Save the file to a safe place

Electron Wallet

1. Click on Settings
2. Go to Backup wallet
3. Click on Backup wallet
4. Save the file to a safe place

How to manually backup the wallet.dat file

WINDOWS

1. Press on your keyboard + R and paste:

   %appdata%

2. Windows Explorer has opened, click into the CloakCoin folder
3. Copy the wallet.dat to a safe place

LINUX

The wallet creates a folder in the home directory of the user that is running the wallet.

1. Open the terminal
2. Go to the home directory of the user who is running the wallet
3. Now type:

   cd .CloakCoin

4. Then type:

   ls

   (you will see the files in the folder)

5. Copy the wallet.dat to a safe place.

MAC

1. Open Finder
2. Select Go / Go To Folder from the finder menu
3. Paste:

   ~/Library/Application Support/CloakCoin/

4. Click on the Go button.
5. Copy the wallet.dat to a safe place.
